Responsibilities
- Conduct feasibility studies, estimates, planning, risk assessment, application development, and model development for new or revised systems.
- Design, build, test, implement, monitor, and support application systems and programs.
- Develop high-scale and high-performance software platforms for data computation and processing using Core Java and Apache Spark.
- Analyze complex application and business-process issues and recommend advanced programming solutions.
- Design schemas, write and optimize SQL queries, and improve Oracle database performance.
- Develop security measures and perform post-implementation analysis to ensure system functionality and appropriate business usage.
- Consult with business users, clients, and technology groups, and provide operational and user support.
- Follow and help define operating standards, procedures, and technology controls.
- Serve as an advisor or coach to new and lower-level analysts and act as a subject-matter expert for stakeholders.
Requirements
- 8+ years of relevant experience using Core Java, Spark, and Big Data technologies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Extensive experience building high-scale, high-performance software platforms for data computation and processing.
- Expert knowledge of Core Java, Spring Boot, object-oriented programming concepts, and design patterns.
- Hands-on experience with Apache Spark using Java.
- Experience with caching solutions such as Pinot and Redis.
- Strong knowledge of Oracle databases, including schema design and query optimization, and hands-on SQL experience.
- Strong computer science fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, databases, and operating systems.
- Extensive experience with Unix-based operating systems and shell scripting.
- Experience with source code management tools such as Bitbucket and Git.
- Experience analyzing and programming software applications and implementing successful projects.
- Working knowledge of consulting and project management techniques and methods.
- Strong problem-solving, independent working, communication, teamwork, deadline-management, and adaptability skills.
- Banking-domain experience, such as pricing or risk, is a plus.
