Responsibilities
- Establish and drive solution designs aligned with enterprise reference architectures, business strategies, and IT strategies.
- Translate strategy into end-to-end architectures spanning mobile, responsive web, APIs, microservices, micro-frontends, data, and cloud infrastructure.
- Produce option analyses and architecture decision records balancing alignment, security, reliability, complexity, and cost.
- Design SaaS and native-cloud solutions while rationalizing and modernizing technology assets.
- Advance digital identity and zero-trust patterns and ensure alignment with enterprise security standards.
- Partner with value streams on roadmaps and increments and ensure solutions meet non-functional and operational expectations.
- Evaluate and implement emerging technologies when they improve business outcomes.
- Participate in architecture governance, including reviews, permits to build, conformance checks, and justified exceptions.
- Influence leaders and stakeholders, align technology strategies with business goals, and mentor technical teams.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in Solution Architecture, Application Architecture, or Senior Software Engineering within a large enterprise environment.
- Experience in the Small Commercial Insurance industry.
- Proven experience designing and delivering cloud-based solutions using AWS and/or Google Cloud.
- Experience with microservices, service-oriented architectures, and REST or SOAP API and event-driven integrations.
- Hands-on experience with generative AI and machine learning, including LLMs, RAG, semantic search, embedding models, and agentic AI architectures.
- Knowledge of CIAM and modern authentication standards including OAuth2 and OIDC.
- Experience building modern web applications using Angular, React, or similar frameworks.
- Strong understanding of APIs, REST, JSON, HTTP standards, cloud and hybrid-cloud environments, and containerized applications and orchestration platforms.
- Experience applying product thinking, measuring success through KPIs, and balancing reliability, scalability, and cost.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and mentor technical teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Cloud and architecture certifications are preferred.
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
Benefits
- Hybrid schedule requiring work in a Columbus, Ohio, or Hartford, Connecticut office three days per week, Tuesday through Thursday.

- Total compensation may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition in addition to base pay.
