Base Salary

$188k - $234k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Assess software gaps, requirements, risks, issues, change requests, and solution trade-offs.
  • Create user stories, detailed designs, functional logic, and software components that meet business, technical, non-functional, availability, and scalability requirements.
  • Develop Java and Scala software, REST API services, Big Data ETL pipelines, data ingestion platforms, and distributed cloud data solutions.
  • Build automation scripts, CI/CD pipelines, telemetry, logging, monitoring, Airflow workflows, and containerized workflows.
  • Create and execute test cases, perform multiple forms of testing and regression testing, and analyze and resolve defects.
  • Troubleshoot application performance and availability bottlenecks and conduct complex maintenance, re-engineering, and corrective, adaptive, and perfective maintenance activities.
  • Analyze application logs, maintenance data, performance metrics, and historical defects to improve software solutions.
  • Develop analytical dashboards, Delta Lake architecture, feature engineering workflows, and predictive machine learning models.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related area plus 3 years of software engineering or related experience; alternatively, a master's degree or equivalent plus 1 year of experience.
  • Experience implementing production-grade real-time data stores using BigQuery, RDBMS, and Looker.
  • Experience with object-oriented design using Java and Scala and with REST API web services using Java Spring Boot.
  • Experience developing Big Data ETL pipelines using Scala Spark, PySpark, and Hive, including designing, building, and testing Hive-based pipelines.
  • Experience developing, deploying, and maintaining data pipelines on distributed cloud computer backends.
  • Experience developing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
  • Experience implementing logging and monitoring solutions using Splunk, Grafana, Datadog, and Spotlight.
  • Experience with GitHub and Bitbucket version control systems.
  • Experience designing data ingestion platforms for SOX, GDPR, and CCPA requirements.
  • Experience designing and implementing custom Airflow sensors and operators and managing Genie-based container workflows for cloud big-data jobs.
  • Experience implementing Airflow on Kubernetes with Docker containerization.
  • Experience building Tableau and Power BI dashboards with Hive and Presto backends.
  • Experience implementing Delta Lake architecture with change data capture, data preprocessing, feature engineering, predictive modeling, and statistical analysis.
  • Experience using Python, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, and Keras for machine learning.
