  • Design software architecture, module interfaces, and data flows for state-estimation implementations.
  • Develop Extended Kalman Filter, GNSS/INS integration, multi-sensor fusion, FDIR, integrity monitoring, and protection-level algorithms.
  • Integrate vision, RF, celestial, and other sensing modalities for GPS-degraded and denied navigation.
  • Create verification and validation plans, conduct Monte Carlo and covariance analysis, evaluate flight-test data, and document compliance evidence.
  • Support safety assessments, failure modes and effects analysis, navigation trade studies, and certification activities.
  • Provide technical guidance on navigation architecture and state estimation and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

  • MS or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of experience developing state-estimation algorithms for aerospace navigation applications.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing GNSS/INS integration and multi-sensor fusion algorithms in production systems.
  • Experience with safety-critical system development, certification, requirements management, and verification/validation processes.
  • Deep understanding of state-estimation theory, inertial navigation, GNSS positioning, sensor error modeling, integrity monitoring, protection levels, and safety-assessment methods.
  • Strong programming skills in C/C++ and Python/MATLAB for algorithm development and analysis.
  • Knowledge of GPS/GNSS signal structure, error sources, performance characteristics, IMU error models, calibration, and Allan variance analysis.
  • Familiarity with alternative navigation sensors and navigation performance metrics including accuracy, integrity, continuity, and availability.
  • Must be eligible to obtain a security clearance; ability to obtain an S//SAR-level clearance is desired.
  • Preferred qualifications include a PhD focused on state estimation or navigation, certified navigation system experience through flight test, specialized navigation experience, navigation or state-estimation publications or patents, and GPS/GNSS jamming and spoofing mitigation experience.

Benefits

  • Full-time regular employees receive pay within the listed range, bonus, benefits, and equity.
  • Temporary employees receive pay within the listed range and a temporary benefits package applicable after 60 days of employment.
