Responsibilities
- Lead development of complex, high-impact features.
- Develop and maintain serverless and event-driven data pipelines for high-volume scientific data.
- Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code and identify technical debt and architectural improvements.
- Build intuitive user interfaces with other team members to simplify scientific research.
- Provide technical guidance through code reviews and pair programming.
- Implement observability and participate in production deployment and monitoring.
- Build and scale data ingestion or processing workflows when needed.
- Lead small project teams or act as a feature lead when applicable.
Requirements
- 8+ years of engineering experience, preferably in a SaaS environment.
- Strong software engineering experience with Node.js, React, Java, Go, C#, or similar object-oriented/backend languages.
- Proven experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and working with PostgreSQL.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services and understanding of Docker and Kubernetes for container orchestration.
- Experience with message-based architectures such as Kafka and event-driven patterns.
- Experience with automated unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions or AWS CodePipeline.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and iterative delivery.
- A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience is ideally preferred.
- Experience with Terraform or similar deployment technologies, AWS/GCP or multi-cloud systems, and life-sciences or R&D data management is advantageous.
