Responsibilities
- Architect and evolve observability standards for metrics, logging, tracing, and SLO/SLA-driven reliability.
- Design, build, and operate highly available Google Cloud Platform infrastructure.
- Lead Kubernetes platform operations, including cluster reliability, multi-tenant architecture, and deployment patterns.
- Diagnose and resolve complex failures across cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, policy engines, and microservices.
- Define infrastructure-as-code best practices using Terraform, Pulumi, Crossplane, or similar tools.
- Drive automation, self-service capabilities, compliance guardrails, and cost-efficiency improvements.
- Lead major incident response and conduct post-incident reviews with systematic remediation.
- Mentor engineers and influence cross-functional adoption of operational discipline and cloud-native practices.
- Partner with developer teams on capacity strategies and delivery of high-quality solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is typically required.
- 5–8+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or Cloud Engineering operating mission-critical production systems.
- Expert-level Google Cloud Platform knowledge and deep Kubernetes operational expertise.
- Extensive experience designing metrics pipelines and SLO frameworks.
- Advanced proficiency in Python, Go, or Bash and experience building maintainable automation tooling.
- Hands-on experience with declarative infrastructure ecosystems such as Pulumi, Crossplane, or similar tools.
- Experience solving complex distributed-systems failures and driving long-term reliability improvements.
- Strong communication, mentoring, architectural influence, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Experience operating in regulated environments such as HIPAA, ISO, or medical-device environments is a significant plus.
- CKA, CKAD, or GCP Professional Cloud Engineer certification is highly preferred.
