Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain modular simulation and modeling software in C++ and Python.
- Integrate simulation components with system interfaces, middleware, and test harnesses while ensuring interoperable data flows and real-time performance.
- Design and execute verification and validation tests, analyze results, identify defects, and implement fixes.
- Optimize simulation performance and scalability by profiling code and reducing latency.
- Support automated builds and deployments, software release planning, integration, demonstrations, and technical troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with systems engineers, testers, and stakeholders to translate requirements into simulation scenarios and produce technical documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline and 5 years of related engineering experience, or a master’s degree and 3 years of related experience, or a PhD and 1 year of related experience.
- Demonstrated professional experience developing software in C or C++.
- Professional experience with software change control and change-management tools such as Atlassian tools, GitHub, or GitLab.
- Professional experience with the full Software Development Life Cycle.
- Active U.S. Government Top Secret clearance with a background investigation within the past five years or enrollment in Continuous Evaluation.
- Ability to obtain and maintain initial and subsequent Special Access Program access through required Program Access Requests.
- Preferred qualifications include Python and Java development, network interfaces and troubleshooting, safety-critical embedded real-time software on RTOS platforms, and static code analysis tools such as Coverity, SonarQube, or Fortify.
- Leadership, teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills are preferred.
