Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate scalable, secure, highly available GCP platform capabilities.
- Build and evolve production Kubernetes/GKE platforms for business-critical workloads.
- Develop reusable platform capabilities, standards, patterns, guardrails, and self-service functionality for engineering teams.
- Manage repeatable and maintainable infrastructure using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
- Implement and improve GitOps and CI/CD practices using ArgoCD and other deployment platforms.
- Develop Python, Shell, or similar automation to reduce manual operational work.
- Design GCP networking, IAM, compute, storage, load balancing, and security patterns.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues across GCP, Kubernetes, networking, infrastructure, and platform services.
- Improve platform reliability, scalability, performance, security, operational efficiency, deployment workflows, and developer experience.
- Participate in architecture and design reviews, major incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
- Partner with Application, SRE, DevOps, Security, and Architecture teams.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to engineering standards, technical practices, and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, DevOps, SRE, or a similar engineering role.
- Strong hands-on experience designing and operating GCP production environments and Google Kubernetes Engine in production.
- Strong experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, and GitOps-based deployment practices.
- Understanding of GCP networking, IAM and access control, compute, storage, load balancing, security, VPC, Cloud DNS, Secret Manager, and Cloud Monitoring.
- Experience with Kubernetes workload management, networking, ingress, resource management, scaling, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
- Experience building highly available and scalable platforms and troubleshooting across cloud and Kubernetes environments.
- Experience developing automation with Python, Shell, or similar scripting languages.
- Experience owning platform capabilities from design and implementation through production operations.
- Strong understanding of platform reliability, security, scalability, and operational excellence.
- Strong communication, collaboration, technical leadership, and mentoring abilities.
- Preferred experience with enterprise-scale or multi-team GCP environments, reusable Terraform modules, platform frameworks, advanced GKE/Kubernetes engineering, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, ArgoCD, FluxCD, platform security, governance, compliance controls, cloud migration, application modernization, distributed systems, microservices, cloud-native architectures, or regulated environments.
