Responsibilities
- Partner with clients and internal architects to understand business priorities and translate them into practical, scalable AI-enabled solutions.
- Shape commercially viable solution concepts and convert business cases and transformation roadmaps into production-ready architectures and delivery plans.
- Own the FDE engineering standard, including architecture patterns, engineering practices, testing, evaluation, production readiness, and operational support.
- Define and evolve AI-native engineering practices involving agent-assisted development, automated evaluation, reusable components, observability, and production operations.
- Define reference architectures and decision frameworks for selecting Microsoft AI capabilities and Avanade platforms.
- Set hiring, assessment, capability-development, career-pathway, and enablement standards for the FDE track.
- Deploy personally on complex, strategic, at-risk, or reference-critical client mandates.
- Collaborate with platform, product, delivery, quality, value, and trust leaders to ensure production standards, governance, measurable outcomes, and reusable assets.
- Contribute solution patterns, reference architectures, engineering assets, and delivery lessons to strengthen the platform and delivery model.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in software or AI engineering with senior or lead accountability for production systems that were maintained after launch.
- Deep, current, hands-on experience with agentic engineering, including orchestration, retrieval, tool use, evaluation, observability, and failure handling.
- Strong command of the Microsoft AI stack; equivalent depth on another stack may be considered where the transfer is credible.
- Experience establishing and enforcing engineering standards for a team, including gaining adoption from people who initially disagreed.
- Experience assessing and hiring engineers at volume and pace with a defensible quality bar.
- Client-facing credibility and willingness to deploy directly with clients rather than directing exclusively from the studio.
- Experience building a capability that includes internal transfers from traditional delivery and requires substantial re-skilling.
- Ability to operate across business understanding, solution architecture, engineering leadership, and hands-on delivery.
