Responsibilities
- Define ISP pipeline architectures for automotive camera systems.
- Work with ISP hardware/SOC suppliers and Aptiv software and hardware teams to map algorithms into software and hardware architectures.
- Generate ISP architecture benchmark test vectors for hardware and software validation.
- Set up and maintain lab equipment and image/video test suites for subjective and objective image-quality assessment.
- Collaborate with external suppliers and internal modeling teams to develop and maintain image sensor and ISP processing models.
- Convert simulated algorithms into implementable ISP architectures.
- Manage ISP pipeline work, image-quality benchmarks, architectural reviews, and evaluation of algorithm blocks.
- Work cross-functionally with hardware, software, and other teams throughout the product development cycle.
Requirements
- 14–18 years of experience is stated for the role.
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, mathematics, or optics; a PhD and research experience are advantageous.
- At least 5 years of experience in ISP image-quality testing, architecture, and algorithm development is listed in the background requirements.
- Expertise in ISP algorithm blocks including edge enhancement, noise filtering, demosaicing, color correction, local tone mapping, color-domain conversions, lens distortion correction, and pyramid generation.
- Thorough understanding and hands-on experience with HDR, AWB, and AE algorithms.
- Expertise in scientific prototyping using MATLAB and Python.
- Familiarity with signal-processing algorithm implementation in C.
- Familiarity with OpenVX and its implementation in embedded heterogeneous system-on-chip architectures.
- Knowledge of software architecture, ISP hardware/SOC suppliers, image signal processing, camera systems, and optical engineering.
