Responsibilities

  • Mentor engineers in DO-178C compliance, real-time embedded design, coding, verification, and documentation practices.
  • Lead technical reviews, design walkthroughs, certification-readiness sessions, and embedded software architecture reviews.
  • Own DO-178C compliance across the software life cycle and guide teams on DAL objectives, traceability, audits, and authority interactions.
  • Provide hands-on guidance for embedded Linux, bare-metal, and RTOS-based real-time software development.
  • Lead verification and validation strategy, requirements-based testing, structural coverage, verification independence, and verification automation.
  • Build or scale embedded software teams and define technical standards, review mechanisms, and skill-development plans.
  • Collaborate with systems and hardware teams on end-to-end integration.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in avionics or safety-critical embedded software.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Proven experience mentoring, coaching, and leading embedded software teams.
  • Strong hands-on experience with DO-178C, preferably at DAL A or DAL B, including requirements-based development, traceability, lifecycle compliance, certification audits, and authority interactions.
  • Experience with DO-330, tool qualification, requirements-based testing, structural coverage including Statement, Decision, and MC/DC, and verification independence.
  • Strong real-time embedded application development experience, including bare-metal programming and embedded Linux or another RTOS.
  • Proficiency in C and C++.
  • Experience with cross-compilers, GDB, DOORS, Polarion, RTRT, and Git.
