Responsibilities

  • Define validation strategies, test methodologies, automation frameworks, test architectures, qualification criteria, and coverage plans for enterprise SSD firmware.
  • Architect Feature Validation Test coverage across host interface, FTL, NAND management, error handling and recovery, power-loss protection, reliability, endurance, garbage collection, wear leveling, bad-block management, and error injection.
  • Translate product requirements and customer use cases into scalable validation architectures, test plans, coverage matrices, and automation frameworks.
  • Develop validation methodologies, test frameworks, tools, automated reporting systems, and quality dashboards to improve coverage, repeatability, and execution efficiency.
  • Drive feature-level risk assessments, requirements traceability, coverage analysis, validation completeness, and qualification sign-off.
  • Lead root-cause investigations using protocol captures, firmware logs, telemetry, system traces, and performance metrics.
  • Drive complex issues to closure with Firmware, ASIC, Hardware, Systems, Reliability, and Customer Engineering teams.
  • Own and scale test infrastructure for next-generation NAND technologies and accelerate qualification cycles.
  • Collaborate with architecture, firmware, systems, product management, quality, and hyperscale/datacenter customers throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Lead major cross-functional initiatives, influence product roadmaps, mentor engineers, and provide technical leadership across validation teams.

Requirements

  • 14+ years of experience in embedded firmware development or validation, or 10+ years of SSD firmware verification experience.
  • Strong firmware and hardware debugging experience, including hands-on ownership of complex issue resolution.
  • Strong knowledge of NVMe, PCIe, cloud SSD, OCP, datacenter SSD, SSD, NAND, and end-to-end storage-stack specifications and architectures.
  • Experience defining test strategies, qualification methodologies, validation plans, coverage models, defect-escape prevention processes, and validation sign-off criteria.
  • Extensive experience architecting Feature Validation Test coverage for garbage collection, wear leveling, bad-block management, and error injection.
  • Experience developing test code and automation frameworks in Python.
  • Experience validating SSD firmware and storage solutions for datacenter, enterprise, AI compute, and hyperscale environments.
  • Strong understanding of interactions among CPU, memory, PCIe, NVMe, drivers, operating systems, firmware, virtualization layers, and AI accelerators.
  • Strong Windows and Linux operating-system debugging skills.
  • Experience building test frameworks, automated reporting systems, quality dashboards, and validation solutions integrated with CI/CD.
  • Experience with AI infrastructure platforms, GPU-attached storage environments, and large-scale datacenter storage validation is highly desirable.
  • Experience developing validation plans for AI-centric workloads such as model training, checkpointing, KV cache, inference, and agentic AI workloads is desirable.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electronics engineering, or equivalent.
  • Strong technical leadership, communication, planning, execution, problem-solving, analytical, project-management, mentoring, quality, risk-mitigation, and delivery skills.
  • Ability to use AI-assisted tools for code generation, test creation, log analysis, root-cause identification, defect triage, coverage analysis, and automated report generation.
