Responsibilities
- Plan, design, and develop technical solutions that meet business requirements and Mastercard standards.
- Own the full systems development lifecycle, including requirements, use cases, architecture, testing strategy, performance benchmarking, deployment, and contingency planning.
- Perform system maintenance, production incident management, root-cause analysis, remediation, and scheduled on-call support.
- Research technologies and frameworks, participate in proofs of concept, and help select vendor solutions and development tools.
- Promote quality assurance, quality control, test automation, and process efficiency improvements.
- Serve as a subject-matter expert for selected features, components, or technologies and share knowledge with team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Strong understanding of software design principles, design patterns, algorithms, data structures, and multithreading.
- In-depth expertise in Java and related frameworks, with experience designing production-ready scalable, reliable, and fault-tolerant microservices systems.
- Experience with event-driven application development, relational databases, SQL queries, stored procedures, and testing frameworks such as JUnit and mocking tools.
- Experience with Unix/Linux, shell scripting, configuration management tools, Maven, Jenkins Pipeline, and XML.
- Ability to use industry-standard test automation frameworks and practices, continuous delivery practices, and multiple operating systems including Windows, Unix, and Linux.
- Experience in agile and waterfall environments is preferred.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, independent learning, and collaboration skills.
