AI Agent Machine Learning Engineer Intern (Global E-Commerce, Supply Chain and Logistics) - 2027 Start (PhD)
ByteDanceResponsibilities
- Develop deep learning and operations research models and intelligent systems for global e-commerce supply chain and logistics.
- Develop domain-specific LLMs using continual pre-training, supervised fine-tuning, and reinforcement learning, and design and deploy AI agents using an Agent + Skill framework.
- Predict estimated arrival times, delivery failures, delivered-but-not-received events, and package spatio-temporal trajectories using deep learning, statistical inference, and related methods.
- Build logistics network knowledge graphs and use NLP and LLM algorithms for address verification and address suggestion.
- Apply time-series forecasting to warehouse staffing, inventory demand, and sales at multiple granularities and horizons.
- Develop merchant and merchandise algorithm systems for merchant mining, tiering, outreach, seller growth diagnosis, mission recommendation, traffic and conversion prediction, pricing, subsidy, and traffic optimization.
- Collaborate with supply chain operations and product teams to support e-commerce growth goals.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a PhD in Software Development, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Proficient in machine learning and statistics, including classification, regression, clustering, and deep learning algorithms, with practical application experience.
- Proficient in Python or Java and able to demonstrate strong coding skills.
- Familiar with at least one common machine learning or deep learning framework, such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
- Hands-on experience applying LLMs and AI agents in business scenarios is preferred.
- Strong data analysis, initiative, exploration, teamwork, and communication skills are preferred.
- Publications at KDD, NeurIPS, WWW, SIGIR, WSDM, ICML, IJCAI, AAAI, or RecSys, or participation in data mining or machine learning competitions, are advantageous.
