Responsibilities
- Design, implement, test, and operate backend services for context ingestion, indexing, retrieval orchestration, API access, source configuration, and administration.
- Build the multi-tenant SaaS architecture, including tenant isolation, usage tracking, quotas, audit logs, background jobs, and reliable service boundaries.
- Create APIs and service interfaces for AI agents, MCP tools, CLIs, and internal applications to retrieve context, provenance, confidence signals, and warnings.
- Balance rapid experimentation with long-term reliability as the product moves from prototype to production.
- Instrument services with metrics, logs, traces, alerts, and dashboards and use observability tools to improve reliability.
- Shape architecture, storage choices, service boundaries, API contracts, deployment patterns, and engineering practices for the new product area.
- Take ownership of AI solutions that are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with real user workflows.
- Collaborate effectively across product, infrastructure, and engineering teams.
Requirements
- Experience building production-grade, user-facing software systems.
- Experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, and applications powered by GenAI.
- A proven track record of delivering software that reaches production and is actively used by customers or users.
- Exposure to cloud-native environments such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Experience using observability tools to understand and troubleshoot system behavior.
- Ability to work independently through ambiguity, iterate quickly, define scope, and make pragmatic architectural decisions.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience with agent frameworks or multi-agent workflows is a bonus.
- Experience as a data analyst or with data platforms such as Looker, Tableau, Power BI, Snowflake, or Databricks is a bonus.
- Experience building tools for data engineering is a bonus.
