
Software Engineer III - GenAI Patterns

- Build and own end-to-end full-stack features across UI, APIs, services, and data layers for AI-enabled products.
- Design and implement knowledge libraries, retrieval-augmented generation capabilities, embedding generation, indexing strategies, and semantic search pipelines.
- Develop AI content and document-generation solutions with guardrails and auditability for regulated workflows.
- Use enterprise-authorized AI coding and software development lifecycle tools while validating outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards.
- Engineer agentic workflows with policy checks, workflow constraints, deterministic controls, and robust agentic validations.
- Implement semantic validation for grounding, relevance, duplication detection, hallucination reduction, and structured evaluation.
- Apply engineering best practices for testing, reliability, observability, performance, scalability, and secure coding.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and risk/compliance partners and contribute reusable AI engineering patterns.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 3 years of applied experience.
- Strong full-stack software engineering fundamentals, including clean APIs, robust services, and thoughtful user experiences.
- Experience building production systems with scalability, performance tuning, monitoring and alerting, incident practices, and delivery automation.
- Familiarity with search and retrieval systems, including semantic search, vector stores, indexing, ranking, and query pipelines.
- Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and evaluating and refining generated outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Understanding of responsible AI engineering practices, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security expectations.
- Experience or comfort working with LLM-based systems, prompting patterns, structured outputs, evaluation, and guardrails.
- Knowledge of generative AI concepts, prompt engineering, RAG, embeddings, vector search, LangChain, model evaluation, guardrails, and hallucination reduction is preferred.
- Experience with Python, Java, Spring Boot, OpenAI, vector databases or Pinecone, and AWS is preferred.
- Open-source community contribution or startup experience is a plus.
- Ability to collaborate across engineering, product, and risk/compliance functions.
