Responsibilities
- Architect and develop core Rust libraries that serve as the foundation for Proton Drive web and mobile applications.
- Ensure compatibility and performance across web browsers and mobile devices.
- Conduct code reviews and optimize code quality, maintainability, and performance.
- Collaborate with backend API, frontend, desktop, and mobile developers.
- Apply secure coding practices to protect Proton Drive users’ privacy and data.
- Develop unit and integration testing strategies for core libraries.
- Create and maintain documentation for core libraries.
- Stay current with Rust and related technologies and recommend improvements.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional software development experience focused on Rust.
- Strong proficiency in Rust language features, concurrency, and the ownership model.
- Experience developing libraries for web and/or mobile applications.
- Ability to collaborate effectively and communicate clearly in a team environment.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Understanding of secure coding practices and commitment to security and privacy.
- Proficiency with version control systems, preferably Git.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Mobile development experience with iOS and Swift or Android and Kotlin, especially native mobile SDKs or Rust integrations, is a bonus.
