Base Salary
$220k - $280k/yr
Responsibilities
- Ship high-quality code daily, with hands-on development comprising the majority of the role.
- Own architecture and the technical roadmap for a core domain, including solving its hardest technical problems.
- Mentor senior and staff engineers and serve as the technical escalation point for challenging issues.
- Provide technical leadership in enterprise AI and help push the frontier of what is possible with enterprise AI.
- Represent Coworker through talks, blog posts, and open-source contributions.
- Guide early technical architecture decisions and establish the engineering culture.
- Help the product team define vision, strategy, and roadmap while proposing solutions and communicating technical limitations.
- Drive cross-organizational technical initiatives with measurable business impact.
- Lead incident response and post-mortems for company-critical issues.
- Hire and interview senior and staff-level engineering candidates and raise the engineering talent bar.
Requirements
- Bachelor's and/or master's degree, preferably in Computer Science.
- 10+ years of professional development experience.
- Experience owning new products from zero to one, from system design through implementation and deployment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience using AI to improve engineering velocity through iterative workflows and reinforcement.
- Proficiency with or willingness to work in Go, TypeScript, and Python; the posting states that any languages are acceptable but these are used primarily.
- Deep expertise in at least two of distributed systems, data pipelines, AI/ML infrastructure, security, or frontend architecture at scale.
- Ability to lead without direct authority and influence technical direction across team boundaries.
- Experience defining SLAs and SLOs and running production systems at scale with strong operational discipline.
