Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, design, and hands-on development of scalable, secure, highly available enterprise applications.
- Own complex technical initiatives from architecture and proof of concept through implementation, deployment, production readiness, and continuous improvement.
- Drive design and code reviews, automated testing, observability, performance engineering, production reliability, security, and software-development practices.
- Apply cloud, data, AI, and ML engineering concepts to build intelligent capabilities and optimize infrastructure, cloud costs, model/API consumption, and token efficiency.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship, influence architecture across teams, collaborate with product and business partners, and establish reusable engineering patterns and standards.
Requirements
- Strong experience building large-scale, production-grade distributed applications with deep backend expertise and the ability to work across the full stack.
- Proficiency in Java, Spring, Spring Boot, API development, object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, concurrency, design patterns, and distributed-system fundamentals.
- Experience with React, JavaScript, TypeScript, and related web-development frameworks.
- Knowledge of system design, data modeling, relational and NoSQL databases, caching, asynchronous and event-driven architectures, scalability, performance, resiliency, and disaster recovery.
- Experience designing and operating applications on public cloud platforms such as GCP or Azure, including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with automated testing, observability, logging, monitoring, alerting, CI/CD, and production support.
- Understanding of cloud architecture and FinOps principles, including improving infrastructure utilization, application efficiency, performance, and cloud cost.
- Exposure to ML engineering concepts and the software and data engineering considerations for integrating, deploying, monitoring, and operating ML-powered capabilities.
- Exposure to generative AI and LLM application development, including prompt and context design, model/API integration, evaluation, responsible AI, latency and cost trade-offs, and token optimization.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant computing field and 4 years of software engineering experience, or 6 years of software engineering experience.
- Preferred qualifications include a relevant master’s degree and 2 years of software engineering experience.
