Responsibilities

  • Design, architect, and deliver complex features across the full web application stack.
  • Provide technical leadership and drive architecture, design decisions, and engineering standards.
  • Build scalable, resilient, secure, accessible, and high-performing web applications.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, engineers, and partners to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Break down complex technical problems and define implementation approaches.
  • Mentor engineers through technical guidance, code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge sharing.
  • Champion code quality, testing, observability, reliability, maintainability, and automation practices.
  • Improve deployment confidence through automated testing, reliability frameworks, monitoring, and automation.
  • Address performance, accessibility, availability, and scalability opportunities.
  • Partner with Site Reliability Engineering teams on production issues, root-cause analysis, and sustainable solutions.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and frameworks to improve applications, developer experience, and engineering effectiveness.
  • Reduce technical debt and improve team development practices.

Requirements

  • 9+ years of professional software engineering experience, including significant experience building modern web applications.
  • Experience architecting and developing complex systems, leading technical direction, and driving solutions from design through production.
  • Strong hands-on expertise with JavaScript and TypeScript.
  • Deep experience with React, Redux or similar state-management technologies, and modern front-end frameworks.
  • Strong experience with Node.js, Express, and server-side JavaScript or TypeScript development.
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks and practices such as Jest and Mocha.
  • Knowledge of modern JavaScript development practices, the open-source ecosystem, and contemporary web architecture patterns.
  • Experience designing applications for scalability, performance, resilience, accessibility, and maintainability.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership and ability to mentor and elevate engineers.
  • Comfort working with Agile development methodologies and DevOps principles.
  • Strong ownership, problem-solving, collaboration, customer focus, and interest in innovation and continuous improvement.
