Responsibilities
- Design enhancements, updates, and programming changes for portions and subsystems of systems software.
- Analyze designs and determine required coding, programming, and integration activities.
- Write and execute testing plans, protocols, documentation, scripts, and tools for assigned application areas.
- Identify and debug code and integration issues and create solutions within the application architecture.
- Lead project teams and internal or outsourced development partners in delivering reliable software solutions.
- Represent the software systems engineering team on complex development projects and communicate project status and issue resolution.
- Guide and mentor less-experienced staff members.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
- Typically 5+ years of experience.
- Expertise in multiple software systems design tools and programming languages.
- Knowledge of software systems running across multiple platform types.
- Knowledge of software systems testing methodology, including test-plan development, execution, debugging, and testing scripts and tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, verbal, communication, and negotiation skills, including the ability to communicate with management.
