Responsibilities
- Own the full structured data stack, including connectivity, query engines, semantic layers, and agents.
- Lead architectural transformation of a live production system serving millions of customers and billions of queries per month.
- Diagnose systemic problems, define technical strategy, shape product direction, and drive execution across multiple teams.
- Balance modernization and AI-native engineering practices with existing-system stability, reliability, correctness, and performance.
- Take unscoped problems end-to-end from defining the approach through shipping production code.
- Advance AI-assisted development, automated testing, and LLM-driven code generation practices.
Requirements
- 10+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 8+ years of programming experience with at least one modern programming language.
- 8+ years leading the design or architecture of new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- Experience operating and evolving large-scale distributed systems in production.
- Experience serving as a technical leader across multiple teams and driving architecture and engineering excellence.
- Preferred: full-stack data systems experience across connectivity, query engines, and semantic layers.
- Preferred: data warehousing, lakehouse, query processing at scale, agentic AI, AI-powered data interfaces, or large-scale semantic layer and BI platform experience.
- Preferred: experience balancing existing-system stability with large-scale architectural transformation.
- Preferred: 10+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
