Responsibilities
- Deploy and support the autonomy stack directly on robots at active construction sites.
- Troubleshoot robot behavior in the field, perform root cause analysis, and drive fixes into the codebase.
- Tune and calibrate LiDAR, cameras, and IMU systems for site-specific conditions.
- Build and maintain remote monitoring, telemetry, and diagnostic tools.
- Translate field feedback into engineering priorities while coordinating across hardware, software, and site operations teams.
- Document field deployments, create SOPs, support operator training, and facilitate site hand-offs.
- Improve the autonomy stack and optimize system performance and reliability under real-world constraints.
Requirements
- Degree in computer science, robotics, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or another engineering discipline, or equivalent experience.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience deploying robotics or autonomous-systems software in real-world or field environments.
- Experience with ROS2 and across perception, planning, and control systems.
- Proficiency in Python and C++.
- Ability to troubleshoot on site, perform root cause analysis, and work under time pressure in unstructured environments.
- Strong communication skills and experience liaising across hardware, software, operations, or customer-facing teams.
- Willingness to travel regularly to outdoor job sites and take ownership with light supervision.
- Legal authorization to work in the US.
