Responsibilities
- Develop, integrate, test, deploy, maintain, and support middleware applications using object-oriented techniques, design patterns, and industry-standard software development technologies.
- Conduct performance analysis and design, document and validate software requirements and technical specifications for middleware applications.
- Use Jira, Confluence, IBM Integration Toolkit, IBM MQ Explorer, and Oracle SQL Developer during application development and project work.
- Support databases and information systems in middleware environments by defining data structures and data sets, reviewing queries, and working with database objects.
- Communicate tasks and project status to development teams, supervisors, executive management, and other stakeholders through meetings and written documentation.
- Prepare and identify technical tasks, delivery timelines, and project risks with the project team.
- Provide technical expertise and end-user support for middleware applications and create and document trouble tickets in the agency IT service management system.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, human computer interaction, interactive media, digital and graphics design, data visualization, communication, or a related field, plus four years of satisfactory full-time related experience and specialization in a relevant technology, process, methodology, or domain.
- Alternatively, an associate degree in a listed or related field plus six years of satisfactory full-time related experience and relevant specialization.
- Alternatively, a bachelor's degree in any field plus eight years of satisfactory full-time related experience and relevant specialization.
- Education and/or experience equivalent to the listed qualification pathways may be accepted.
- Experience developing middleware applications with Java, IBM ESQL, IBM integration tools, messaging technologies, databases, and related software development tools.
