Responsibilities
- Identify sources of friction in the software development lifecycle and propose agentic solutions.
- Design and build reliable AI-powered systems with step-by-step workflows and safety checks.
- Develop evaluation tools to assess the correctness and compliance of agent outputs.
- Collaborate across GitLab's codebase to address friction points wherever they arise.
- Apply distributed systems knowledge to catch potential failures before they reach customers.
- Take ownership of greenfield problem spaces and help shape capabilities for external customers.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience building agentic or large language model-based systems.
- Proven ability to work autonomously in unfamiliar codebases and drive solutions to completion.
- Strong knowledge of distributed systems, including coordination and failure modes.
- Proficiency in Go, Rust, or Python, with the ability to read and modify code in other languages.
- Experience in shipping autonomous agents and improving software development processes.
