Responsibilities

Build, debug, and extend internal and public infrastructure components of the Databricks Labs ecosystem.
Implement and maintain backend services, APIs, and automation tools.
Author high-quality technical documentation and design proposals.
Apply engineering best practices and coding standards for Labs projects.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to clarify requirements and propose technical approaches.
Contribute to the evaluation and integration of new technologies.
Own the design and implementation of small to medium-sized projects.
Participate in code reviews and incident response.

6+ years of production experience in backend or infrastructure development.
Proficiency in at least two programming languages such as Terraform, Scala, Go, Apache Spark, Java, or Python.
Experience with at least one compiled language is required.
Strong understanding of AI and data technologies.
Demonstrated experience integrating AI capabilities into production systems.
BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
