Responsibilities
- Build secure, real-time trading platform services for crypto, stocks, ETFs, and managed funds.
- Write high-quality, performant backend code primarily in Kotlin.
- Take features from concept through deployment and production with minimal supervision.
- Handle deployment, bug fixing, incident response, and operational issues.
- Partner with Product Managers during Product Discovery to support strong technical and user-experience decisions.
- Identify and resolve knowledge gaps, technical problems, and broken processes.
- Share learnings from innovation projects with the wider engineering team.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Software Engineer delivering features from concept to production with minimal supervision.
- Strong backend development skills, with Kotlin as the default language for new services.
- Experience with distributed microservices and event-driven architecture using Kafka.
- Understanding of cloud infrastructure and containerization with AWS, Kubernetes, and Docker.
- Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Datadog and ELK/OpenSearch.
- Ability to operate effectively in dynamic environments with rapidly changing requirements.
- Proactive communication, self-directed problem solving, and a demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and system improvement.
