Base Salary
$144k - $161k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and enhance scalable, resilient software solutions supporting Schwab’s financial planning capabilities.
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and support applications and microservices throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Develop Java applications, Angular web applications, RESTful APIs, and distributed services.
- Participate in requirements refinement, user-story decomposition, code reviews, automated testing, and trunk-based development.
- Maintain CI/CD-driven development workflows and support production environments, including on-call support as needed.
- Troubleshoot application and production issues and improve performance, reliability, and maintainability.
- Collaborate with product owners, architects, engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Mentor or coach junior engineers and share technical expertise when needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- At least 5 years of application development and software engineering experience.
- At least 2 years of experience developing web applications with Angular or similar modern front-end frameworks.
- At least 5 years of hands-on Java development experience.
- Experience with Maven or Gradle, RESTful APIs, distributed services, relational databases, source code management, and engineering best practices.
- Experience with code reviews, service discovery, testing, environment management, and production support.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, collaboration, communication, and technical decision-making skills.
- Preferred: financial services industry experience; quality engineering and test automation experience; CI/CD pipeline experience with GitHub, Bamboo, or similar platforms; cloud experience with PCF or GCP; AI-enabled development or engineering automation experience; and mentoring experience.
