Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture and development of post-silicon debug tools for configuring and decoding hardware traces.
- Collaborate with design-for-debug architecture and design teams to deliver tools communicating with DFD hardware.
- Create a consistent user experience across the silicon debug toolkit.
- Partner with silicon verification teams to validate tracing tools in simulation and emulation environments.
- Provide training and support to post-silicon debug teams performing issue root-cause analysis.
- Promote automation, reuse, and scalable debug methodologies to reduce time to root cause.
- Influence next-generation silicon architecture to improve observability and diagnosability.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of professional experience.
- Excellent Python proficiency for tool and automation development.
- Knowledge of software development concepts including unit testing, code coverage collection, release processes, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience developing command-line and graphical user interfaces.
- Familiarity with Git, Gerrit, Artifactory, and CloudBees.
- Familiarity with SoC debug ecosystems such as CoreSight, IJTAG, ELA, and telemetry frameworks.
- Understanding of JTAG and on-chip debug architectures.
- Experience with silicon bring-up, failure triage, and analysis.
- Ability to collaborate across hardware, software, validation, and multi-site teams.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills are preferred.
