Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of production-grade customer systems, reference architectures, custom applications, data ingestion pipelines, and ML/AI model integrations.
- Own architecture and design decisions to ensure solutions are secure, scalable, performant, and aligned with customer needs and Databricks best practices.
- Guide customers through transformational data and AI projects, including project scoping, implementation, evaluation, and adoption.
- Embed with customer teams and manage relationships across technical contributors, executives, and other stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Databricks engineering, product, customer support, project management, architects, and customer teams to deliver engagements and resolve issues.
- Create reusable accelerators, frameworks, and best practices, and provide feedback that influences the Databricks product roadmap.
- Travel to customer sites approximately 20% of the time.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in data engineering, data platforms and analytics, or software engineering.
- Ability to write production code in Python, Scala, JavaScript, or TypeScript using modern frameworks.
- Working knowledge of at least two cloud ecosystems—AWS, Azure, or GCP—with expertise in at least one.
- Deep experience with distributed computing using Apache Spark, including knowledge of Spark runtime internals.
- Experience designing and deploying performant, production-grade data architectures and applications combining data pipelines, ML/AI models, and user-facing interfaces.
- Working knowledge of MLOps, ML/AI models, and AI APIs.
- Experience delivering technical projects, including managing scope and timelines and translating complex concepts into actionable solutions.
- Experience working with enterprise clients and managing conflicts across broad stakeholder groups.
- Strong documentation and whiteboarding skills, along with curiosity and adaptability when exploring technologies for Databricks-based solutions.
- Databricks Certification is preferred but not required.
