Base Salary
$144k - $194k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own payment-system features and components through design, implementation, testing, deployment, documentation, and production operation.
- Design and independently code scalable software solutions while making architecture and implementation tradeoffs.
- Partner directly with product managers, finance, tax, and accounts payable stakeholders to clarify requirements and outcomes.
- Deliver payment changes through staged rollouts, measurement, and safe incremental releases.
- Reduce operational load through code fixes, automation, and self-healing mechanisms.
- Write maintainable documentation and improve system extensibility and clarity.
- Participate in code reviews, mentor earlier-career engineers, and help onboard new teammates.
- Use AI agents for system exploration, design, coding, testing, production triage, and operational automation while verifying their output.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- At least 2 years of non-internship experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- At least 1 year of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
- At least 1 year designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded, or distributed software applications, tools, systems, or services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
- At least 1 year of Object-Oriented Design experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
- Preferred experience includes 3 or more years across the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Preferred qualifications include architecture and design contributions, debugging and profiling large-scale systems, cloud computing or web services experience, and hands-on use of AI coding agents in production.
