Responsibilities
- Provide critical systems and business support for global mainframe and distributed technology environments.
- Maintain high availability and support client and internal partner satisfaction.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and reproduce issues in lower pre-production environments.
- Perform mainframe performance tuning and capacity planning to reduce I/O, CPU time, MSUs, and MIPs.
- Use File-AID, Endeavor, InterTest, Abend-AID, and Control-M for file comparison, version management, debugging, testing, and job scheduling.
- Monitor applications and systems using CloudWatch, Datadog, Splunk, and the ELK stack.
- Develop comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and technology and support partners to resolve complex problems and explain solutions to technical and non-technical audiences.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
- At least 8 years of hands-on experience with mainframe platforms.
- Experience supporting critical mainframe environments using COBOL, DB2, CICS, JCL, MQ-Series, SQL, and VSAM files.
- Experience with mainframe performance tuning and capacity planning using Strobe, iStrobe, and Platinum Detector.
- Experience navigating Oracle database environments for triage.
- Experience with File-AID, Endeavor, InterTest, Abend-AID, and Control-M.
- Knowledge of ETL, Informatica, Java, Python, or other distributed languages is preferred.
- Knowledge of AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud platforms.
- Knowledge of financial services or equity compensation is a plus.
- Ability to work autonomously, manage multiple priorities, communicate effectively, and build trusted stakeholder relationships.
