Responsibilities
- Own and lead the architectural direction across multiple products, including target-state architecture and transformation roadmaps.
- Chair the Architecture Review Board and establish architecture standards, reference architectures, decision records, and review processes.
- Embed in complex development initiatives from architecture and design runway through delivery.
- Represent Showpad’s technology to customers and prospects in architecture, security, and AI discussions.
- Lead modernization and technical transformation of complex products across a multi-year roadmap.
- Recommend staffing, sourcing, global team topology, build-versus-buy decisions, and skill mix to the CTO.
- Establish practices and guardrails for predictable AI inference, AI-assisted development, and cloud operating costs.
- Set standards for technically rigorous, business-aware engineering decisions focused on quality, cost, time-to-value, and customer outcomes.
Requirements
- 15+ years of industry experience with substantial depth in B2B SaaS.
- Experience leading architecture and development for large-scale, multi-tenant, security- and compliance-sensitive enterprise products.
- Deep expertise in distributed systems, microservices, and cloud-native SaaS architectures using AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Experience working with globally distributed engineering teams across multiple time zones.
- Experience establishing architecture practices such as RFCs, ADRs, and design reviews across multi-team engineering organizations.
- A proven record of delivering significant technical transformation or modernization in a matrix organization through influence.
- Direct management experience leading teams of 10–25 people while remaining hands-on and technically current.
- Demonstrated experience designing AI-centric systems that shipped in products.
- Hands-on expertise with generative AI, foundation models, model selection, RAG, retrieval architecture, embeddings, vector stores, agentic patterns, tool use, orchestration frameworks, fine-tuning, evaluation, guardrails, and latency, quality, and cost trade-offs.
- Expertise in cloud architecture and operations, including infrastructure as code, deployment pipelines, containers, orchestration, observability, resilience, and multi-region design.
- Practical expertise managing AI inference, token economics, AI-assisted development costs, and cloud operating spend.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with B2B SaaS, multi-tenant platforms, sales enablement or go-to-market technology, platform or developer-experience engineering, open-source contributions, public technical writing, security-by-design, SOC 2, and compliance-aware architecture.
