Responsibilities
- Design scalable, resilient, observable, modular, and LLM-compatible enterprise software systems.
- Define system decomposition, domain boundaries, interoperability, event architecture, and modular architecture patterns.
- Lead Java and Spring Boot engineering using Spring Modulith, jMolecule, ArchUnit, DDD, asynchronous patterns, CQRS, and event sourcing where appropriate.
- Design cloud-native systems and data platforms using relational, document, search, vector, object-storage, and event or streaming technologies.
- Define AI-assisted software development practices, including prompt engineering, spec-driven development, repository structuring, documentation, governance, and review patterns.
- Apply AI agents to code generation, refactoring, dependency mapping, documentation, and design review.
- Implement vector-database and RAG patterns using embeddings, chunking, indexing, retrieval, and grounding against trusted enterprise data.
- Integrate MCP-compatible tooling into engineering workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
- Mentor and upskill engineers, share expertise through architecture forums and workshops, and lead cross-team improvement initiatives.
- Shape architecture decisions using an understanding of capital-markets business processes while balancing innovation, security, resilience, auditability, and risk control.
Requirements
- Significant hands-on experience as a software developer and senior technical architect or engineering leader.
- Expert Java and Spring Boot experience building modular, testable enterprise services.
- Strong experience with Spring Modulith, jMolecule, and ArchUnit.
- Strong fundamentals in APIs, distributed systems, modular architecture, data design, scalability, resilience, and observability.
- Deep knowledge of relational databases, PostgreSQL, managed RDS platforms, storage systems, document databases, search engines, vector stores, object storage, and event or streaming data layers.
- Expertise in schema design, query tuning, indexing, partitioning, replication, high availability, disaster recovery, data residency, transaction consistency, and backup and restore.
- Hands-on experience with vector databases and RAG patterns, including embeddings, chunking, indexing, retrieval, and grounding AI outputs in trusted enterprise data.
- Experience with prompt engineering, spec-driven development, AI agents, LLM-based tools, MCP-compatible tooling, and deterministic agent-orchestrated services.
- Ability to mentor engineers, communicate complex technical concepts clearly, and lead architecture and engineering improvement initiatives.
