Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Node.js.
- Build and optimize event-driven architectures and data pipelines with Kafka.
- Design and manage MySQL, MongoDB, and other relational or non-relational databases.
- Deploy and operate services using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Contribute to serverless architecture design and implementation.
- Evaluate solutions to complex distributed-system challenges.
- Collaborate with Product, DevOps, and Frontend teams to deliver high-quality features.
- Follow source- and test-driven development practices.
- Track ticket progression with JIRA and communicate proactively with the team.
Requirements
- Strong experience with Java and Node.js.
- Proficiency with MySQL or other relational database systems and MongoDB or other NoSQL databases.
- Experience with Kafka or other event-streaming and message-broker technologies.
- Experience with Docker and containerization, plus Kubernetes for container orchestration.
- Proficiency with version-control systems such as Git.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and microservices architecture.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a global team.
- Preferred experience includes AWS or other cloud platforms, Spinnaker, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab, GitHub, serverless architectures such as AWS Lambda, API design, REST, and observability tools.
