Responsibilities
- Define cloud and platform architecture for secure, scalable, resilient, multi-tenant systems supporting multiple products and thousands of customers.
- Design distributed systems, service boundaries, event-driven interactions, consistency, resiliency, scalability, performance, and failure-recovery patterns.
- Shape relational, NoSQL, graph, and distributed data architecture, including governance, distribution, and access patterns.
- Develop knowledge and semantic architecture involving knowledge graphs, ontologies, domain models, entity relationships, and semantic models.
- Spend up to 50% of the time building foundational components, software modules, prototypes, and reference implementations.
- Establish architecture standards across software, APIs, data, cloud infrastructure, security, and platform engineering.
- Partner with Product and Engineering leaders to guide platform evolution, technical decisions, and long-term investments.
Requirements
- 15+ years of experience designing and building enterprise software, SaaS products, or large-scale cloud platforms.
- Strong software engineering background with recent hands-on production software and platform-component development experience.
- Deep expertise in distributed systems, including microservices, event-driven architectures, scalability, resiliency, consistency models, fault tolerance, and distributed design patterns.
- Strong data architecture and data modeling experience across relational, NoSQL, graph, and distributed data technologies.
- Experience designing knowledge graphs, semantic models, ontologies, or graph-based architectures for complex domains.
- Deep experience designing and operating multi-tenant cloud-native platforms on AWS.
- Experience with platform APIs, Kubernetes/EKS, containers, Infrastructure as Code, and modern DevSecOps practices.
- Experience with PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, graph databases, and other cloud-native data stores.
- Strong understanding of cloud security, identity, authorization, and tenant-isolation patterns.
- Strong technical leadership and communication skills, including the ability to influence engineers, architects, product leaders, and executives.
- Preferred qualifications include experience supporting AI-enabled products, agents, or intelligent applications; leading cloud modernization or platform transformation; AWS Professional-level certification; and work with complex or regulated product and data domains.
