Responsibilities
- Deploy, configure, operate, and support Databricks environments, applications, notebooks, jobs, workflows, and integrations on GCP and/or Azure.
- Design and implement VPCs, subnets, firewalls, private connectivity, and hybrid connectivity for Databricks and related services.
- Build AI-powered tools and automation to improve developer productivity and automate environment setup, validation, deployment, and operational tasks.
- Integrate AI capabilities into CI/CD, infrastructure automation, and cloud operations workflows, and evaluate emerging AI/ML tools and copilots.
- Develop and manage Terraform infrastructure, automate provisioning, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and Databricks deployments.
- Integrate Databricks with GCP Storage, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, enterprise data platforms, and cloud services.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve networking, platform, and deployment issues while enforcing security, governance, and cost controls.
- Collaborate with platform, data, and security teams, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to engineering best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 7–10+ years of total experience, including 5–7 years in cloud engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience with GCP, Azure, or both, plus proven Databricks deployment and operations experience.
- Hands-on experience building or leveraging AI-based tools to improve engineering productivity and automate workflows.
- Experience integrating AI capabilities into DevOps, platform engineering, or cloud operations processes.
- Deep understanding of cloud networking and hybrid connectivity.
- Experience with containers and Kubernetes, including GKE or AKS.
- Strong experience with Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and automation.
- Proficiency in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Preferred: GCP, Azure, or Databricks certifications and experience with Agile/Scrum environments.
