Responsibilities
- Create and maintain foundational libraries for Kotlin core primitives used by hundreds of thousands of developers.
- Develop expertise in specific computer science and software engineering domains.
- Participate in a design committee that shapes Kotlin APIs.
- Help create standard Kotlin tools, specifications, and language features.
- Write design documents for complex systems and reason through technical trade-offs and decisions.
- Investigate language standards, Unicode and timezone behavior, API design, and performance optimization.
Requirements
- JVM development experience down to the implementation details of the Java standard library is preferred.
- Strong understanding of the relevant technical domain is preferred.
- Ability to write design documents for complex systems with well-reasoned technical decisions is preferred.
- Experience in performance engineering or API design is preferred.
