Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services in PHP, preferably using Laravel.
- Design and manage MySQL databases, including schema design, migrations, query optimization, and performance improvements.
- Optimize application performance, identify bottlenecks, and propose scalable solutions.
- Integrate with third-party APIs and external data providers.
- Collaborate with frontend developers to support seamless cross-stack integrations.
- Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following coding standards and best practices.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to team learning and process improvements.
- Work with DevOps on deployment pipelines, environments, and version control.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional PHP development experience.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and MVC architecture.
- Solid experience with Laravel or other modern PHP frameworks.
- Proficiency with MySQL or similar relational databases, including query optimization, schema design, and migrations.
- Experience with Git and collaborative version control workflows.
- Working knowledge of JSON and XML.
- Familiarity with PHP unit and feature testing.
- Experience with Redis, RabbitMQ, or similar queues and caches.
- Exposure to Docker or containerized development environments.
- Basic understanding of frontend technologies such as Vue.js or React.
- Experience integrating financial APIs or working with secure data is preferred.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
