Base Salary

$200k - $250k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Lead the architecture and implementation of payer integrations for claims feeds, utilization management authorization data, eligibility files, and provider rosters
  • Build a reusable integration framework that makes onboarding national and regional payers faster and more reliable
  • Develop fault-tolerant pipelines processing millions of claims records while meeting data quality, security, and compliance requirements
  • Design normalization layers that convert varied payer formats into a unified model for AI/ML systems and analytics
  • Build monitoring, reconciliation, alerting, and data quality systems that detect disruptions and schema drift
  • Define requirements, test scenarios, and acceptance criteria for integrations
  • Establish engineering best practices and technical foundations for future data engineering team growth
  • Apply AI tooling across the engineering workflow without sacrificing software quality

Requirements

  • 5+ years of data engineering experience, including significant experience with healthcare payer data such as claims, utilization management, and eligibility
  • Prior experience leading engineering teams as a tech lead or engineering manager
  • Hands-on experience integrating with health plan systems and working with EDI X12, HL7, FHIR, and custom flat files
  • Strong system design skills and experience defining requirements, test scenarios, and acceptance criteria for complex data systems
  • Hands-on technical leadership experience architecting robust systems, establishing engineering practices with AI coding tools, and shipping production code
  • Experience integrating with claims or utilization management platforms such as QNXT, Facets, Amisys, Jiva, or CareRadius is preferred
  • Behavioral or mental health claims data experience is preferred
  • Experience building data infrastructure for AI/ML systems, including feature pipelines, training data preparation, or model monitoring, is preferred
