Responsibilities

  • Lead system design discussions involving APIs, databases, caching, messaging, resilience, and observability.
  • Design end-to-end, scalable, maintainable, secure, and cloud-native application architectures for financial services.
  • Lead AWS engineering efforts, including data lake, real-time ingestion, processing, monitoring, and reporting frameworks.
  • Evaluate software patterns, tools, and frameworks through proof-of-concepts.
  • Design event-driven, streaming, containerized, and serverless solutions.
  • Apply security and DevSecOps principles to application architecture.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, reusable best practices, and knowledge-transfer materials.
  • Mentor junior engineers and align technical decisions with product owners, technical teams, and business priorities.
  • Support off-hours incident response when needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering and architecture, including 3+ years in system or application design.
  • Strong foundation in Spring Boot, Java, Python, and/or JavaScript.
  • Experience designing and deploying large-scale, multi-region cloud-native solutions, preferably on AWS.
  • Experience with event-driven and streaming architectures and containers such as EKS and ECS.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and modern software development methodologies.
  • Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams and cross-functional projects.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical decisions.
  • AWS Solutions Architect Associate or Professional certification is strongly preferred.
  • Experience conducting architecture reviews, presenting design proposals, and developing hands-on proof-of-concepts is preferred.
  • Finance-domain business process automation experience is preferred.
