Responsibilities
- Lead system and application architecture discussions covering APIs, databases, caching, messaging, resilience, and observability.
- Design scalable, maintainable, secure, cloud-native applications and large-scale multi-region AWS solutions.
- Develop strategies and architecture for cloud data lakes and real-time or near-real-time ingestion, processing, monitoring, and reporting.
- Evaluate software patterns, tools, and frameworks through proof-of-concepts.
- Establish engineering best practices, maintain technical documentation and architectural diagrams, and support knowledge transfer.
- Mentor junior engineers and align technical decisions with product owners, technical teams, and business priorities.
- Support off-hours incident response when needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering and architecture, including 3+ years in system or application design.
- Strong foundation in Spring Boot, Java, Python, and/or JavaScript.
- Experience designing and deploying large-scale, multi-region cloud-native solutions, preferably on AWS.
- Experience with event-driven and streaming architectures and container platforms such as EKS and ECS.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and modern software development methodologies.
- Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams and cross-functional projects and communicating complex technical decisions.
- AWS Solutions Architect Associate or Professional certification is strongly preferred.
- Experience conducting architecture reviews and presenting end-to-end design proposals or hands-on proof-of-concepts is a plus.
- Finance-domain business process automation experience is a plus.
