Base Salary
$149k - $201k/yr
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal engineers, product stakeholders, end users, and open-source communities on feature and bug-fix requests.
- Resolve ambiguity in product requirements and lead feature and system design, implementation, and deployment.
- Integrate software products with defense systems while supporting interoperability and security protocols.
- Own architecture decisions and technical quality across the engineering team.
- Participate in the production on-call rotation.
- Create design specifications, user manuals, maintenance guides, and other technical documentation.
- Contribute to open-source projects and relevant CNCF, ASF, or OpenSSF communities.
- Provide technical mentorship and improve engineering standards.
- Influence product direction through understanding of user needs and system constraints.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience.
- Experience building software tools focused on software lifecycle and management.
- Proficiency in Go; experience with other modern programming languages is a plus.
- Strong understanding of system design, APIs, databases, and cloud architecture, including AWS or Azure.
- Familiarity with OCI Image and Distribution specifications.
- Experience with supply-chain security, including SBOMs and security scanning.
- Familiarity with core Kubernetes concepts.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to assess complex problems, propose solutions, and implement them effectively.
