Responsibilities
- Drive the architectural vision for scalable, performant, and cost-optimized data systems.
- Design, review, and guide implementation of complex data pipelines and data products.
- Build and maintain production-grade ETL pipelines and event-driven systems.
- Establish engineering best practices, design patterns, quality standards, and technical direction across teams.
- Mentor and develop data engineers while representing the team in technical forums and strategic initiatives.
- Lead proofs of concept, evaluate tools, and collaborate with product, engineering, platform, analytics, BI, and ML stakeholders.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in Data Engineering, including 2+ years in a technical or team leadership role.
- Strong expertise in data architecture, data modeling, distributed computing, and modern data platforms.
- Proficiency with Spark, Databricks, Kafka, Presto, and Delta Lake.
- Strong coding skills in Python, Scala, or Java and a solid understanding of software engineering principles.
- Expertise with SQL/NoSQL, data and delta lakes, and cloud-native services, preferably AWS or GCP.
- Experience building production-grade ETL pipelines and event-driven systems.
- Familiarity with DataOps, DevOps, CI/CD, monitoring, alerting, and observability tools.
- Ability to mentor engineers, solve problems collaboratively, and set engineering practices across teams.
