Responsibilities
- Own the backend application, including core logic, databases, data ingestion and transformation, data processing, pipelines, APIs, testing, deployment, operation, and support.
- Develop and manage Python microservices and robust APIs using FastAPI.
- Optimize Snowflake queries, database performance, ETL pipelines, and data-processing execution.
- Design application architecture for efficient concurrent-user handling and high-usage performance.
- Set up and manage CI/CD pipelines, automated tests, code-management standards, and deployments.
- Assess and resolve data-pipeline issues and troubleshoot production solutions.
- Conduct peer reviews and create detailed Confluence documentation for the codebase and its functionality.
- Assist with technical solution discovery and collaborate across server-side and client-side development.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in backend development, integration, data pipelining, and infrastructure.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a similar quantitative field of study.
- Expertise in Python, PySpark, Snowpark, database optimization, and performance improvement.
- Experience with Snowflake, PostgreSQL, data warehouses, object-relational databases, and efficient SQL queries.
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms and developing reliable Python APIs with FastAPI.
- Understanding of data structures and algorithms.
- Knowledge of modern testing frameworks; SonarQube and K6 experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools including Kubernetes, Argo, Red Hat OpenShift, Terraform, CloudWatch, Grafana, JFrog Artifactory, GitHub, and GitHub Actions is a plus.
- Strong collaboration skills and willingness to support seamless server-side and client-side integration.
