Responsibilities
- Design, develop, integrate, and deliver full-stack features for aviation or enterprise systems.
- Write maintainable code, unit tests, and automated tests; participate in code reviews and follow coding standards.
- Estimate tasks, contribute to iteration planning, and participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and daily standups.
- Work with Product Owners and QA to satisfy acceptance criteria and ensure automated tests reflect expected behavior.
- Troubleshoot application issues across development, QA, and production environments by analyzing logs and data.
- Contribute to feature design, design-for-testability, automation, process improvement, pipeline improvement, and environment stability.
- Collaborate with Scrum Masters, Technical Architects, Product Owners, distributed teams, and stakeholders.
- Learn new technologies and develop experiments, proofs of concept, and prototypes when needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in engineering, engineering technology, computer science, data science, mathematics, physics, or a directly related field.
- At least 4 years of software development experience; a master’s degree with 4+ years of experience is also acceptable.
- Hands-on experience designing and developing full-stack enterprise application modules and components.
- Experience with Java, J2EE, JavaScript, jQuery, microservices, Spring Boot, RESTful web services, Spring MVC, JPA/Hibernate, HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, and Angular or React.
- Understanding of object-oriented analysis and design, Java, UML, software design patterns, standards, and best practices.
- Experience with automated and unit testing frameworks such as JUnit, with TDD familiarity preferred.
- Practical SQL, relational database, database modeling, query-writing, and production troubleshooting experience.
- Familiarity with Git, Maven, Azure DevOps/VSTS, GitLab CI, Artifactory, IIS, Apache Tomcat, and Windows and Unix/Linux environments.
- Understanding of identity and authentication mechanisms including SSO, AD/Azure AD, and SAML.
- Preferred experience includes Azure PaaS, Azure App Services, Azure Blob, Azure Redis Cache, Service Bus/RabbitMQ, Docker, monitoring and logging tools, integration patterns, system integration testing, and scripting with JavaScript, Python, or shell.
- Familiarity with Agile/SAFe practices, cross-functional teams, and aviation or large safety-conscious enterprise systems is desirable.
- Introductory exposure to HDInsight/Hadoop and Azure Stream Analytics is a plus.
