Responsibilities
- Develop, test, document, and implement automation, strategies, and solutions for Netskope production services.
- Build and manage complex computing systems based primarily on microservice architectures.
- Create service definitions, component interfaces, experimental prototypes, functional architectures, and implementation designs.
- Communicate and address nonfunctional requirements including security, reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
- Become a subject matter expert on designated products, services, and dependent infrastructure.
- Support and improve the reliability, functionality, and scalability of production solutions.
- Track technology trends, provide data-driven technology recommendations, and mentor or direct others in technology evaluations.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of demonstrated expertise building and managing complex computing systems, including 1–2 years as a Systems Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or SRE.
- Deep experience provisioning and tuning Ceph cloud storage.
- Experience with Kubernetes, OpenStack, and KVM.
- Working knowledge of computer architecture and design and specific details of Unix-like operating systems.
- Experience with business requirements, functional specifications, interface development, functional architecture, and distributed software design and implementation.
- Ability to develop large-scale functional system architectures and implementation designs in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Ability to act as a subject matter expert and provide data-driven recommendations on technology paths.
- Experience or ability to automate rapidly growing global systems.
- Familiarity with Linux operating systems, hypervisor and host compute and storage resources, OSI, TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, IPsec, and network-layer functions.
- DevOps experience with at least two of Python, Golang, Helm, Ansible, Terraform, SaltStack, REST API, and YAML.
- Experience with GitHub, Jira, Confluence, Prometheus, and Grafana is desired.
- A BS in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent practical experience, is required; an advanced degree is strongly preferred.
