Base Salary
$220k - $405k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and own the billing platform and monetization systems for Perplexity's products.
- Lead end-to-end feature development from problem definition to launch.
- Build and operate subscription and usage-based billing systems for millions of users.
- Implement proactive monitoring and alerting for revenue-affecting issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure billing data accuracy and compliance.
- Develop internal tools to assist Support and Finance in resolving billing issues.
Requirements
- 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Experience building or scaling billing, payments, or monetization systems.
- Familiarity with payment processors like Stripe, including subscriptions and invoicing.
- Strong backend engineering skills in Python and experience with relational databases like PostgreSQL.
- Ability to translate user problems into effective technical solutions.
- Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and collaboration.
