Base Salary
$160k - $300k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and scale low-latency backend services and APIs for large engineering data streams.
- Develop distributed, high-throughput systems with strong latency, performance, reliability, security, and compliance characteristics.
- Architect highly available systems and contribute to long-term backend architecture.
- Build integrations with third-party APIs, SaaS tools, and enterprise applications.
- Deploy and operate services in cloud and containerized environments.
- Establish engineering best practices and mentor teammates.
Requirements
- 3–5+ years of experience designing and building distributed backend services in Python, including asynchronous systems, data pipelines, and APIs.
- Experience building data-heavy, high-throughput systems focused on latency, performance, and reliability.
- Proven ability to build and maintain APIs for large-scale applications.
- Hands-on experience with cloud deployments using GCP, AWS, or Azure and containerization with Docker or Kubernetes.
- Experience integrating third-party APIs, SaaS tools, and enterprise applications.
- Experience with CI/CD, observability, and testing frameworks.
- Preferred: frontend experience with React and TypeScript, infrastructure familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, and Terraform, and data visualization dashboard experience with D3, visx, or equivalent.
- Ability to work collaboratively with ownership, rapid iteration, and a customer-focused mindset.
