Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain infrastructure automation platforms and services using Python and infrastructure-as-code technologies.
- Build reusable Terraform modules, Ansible frameworks, internal developer tools, and self-service infrastructure capabilities.
- Develop API-driven automation services, REST API integrations, orchestration frameworks, and infrastructure lifecycle workflows.
- Create automated testing, release, deployment, compliance-validation, and policy-as-code workflows.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and GitOps processes for infrastructure and platform services.
- Automate provisioning and lifecycle management for compute, storage, and networking across Nutanix, VMware, KVM, AWS, and Azure environments.
- Define engineering standards, lead technical initiatives, participate in architecture and code reviews, and mentor engineers.
- Influence long-term platform strategy and improve developer experience through automation-first engineering practices.
Requirements
- 5-8 years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, infrastructure automation, or DevOps engineering roles.
- Strong Python development experience building production applications, automation services, APIs, or developer tools.
- Expert-level Terraform experience, including reusable modules, multi-environment architectures, and automation frameworks.
- Strong Ansible experience involving role development, framework design, and large-scale automation implementations.
- Experience with software design patterns, testing frameworks, source control, code reviews, API integration, automation architecture, and distributed systems.
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, release automation, and deployment workflows using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar platforms.
- Experience automating at least two of Nutanix AHV/Prism/AOS, VMware vSphere/ESXi, and KVM/QEMU through APIs, SDKs, or infrastructure-as-code.
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure infrastructure services and working knowledge of networking, infrastructure architecture, and hybrid cloud environments.
- Ability to lead technical initiatives, influence engineering direction, mentor engineers, and communicate effectively.
- Preferred experience includes internal developer platforms, FastAPI, Flask, Django, automation services, operators, controllers, Kubernetes, containers, cloud-native technologies, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, OpenTelemetry, Open Policy Agent, and Sentinel.
